  4. Achievements

    Development of the Dr. A. C. Homoeopathic medical college & Hospital during my principal ship of 36 months can be equated to the development took in previous 35 years.

    1. University
      1. All examinations of UG / PG were trailing behind 1 ½ years and there were possibility of only one examination in a year. They were all regularized. Students could able to have two examinations in one year of time.
      2. For the 1st time after 35 years of existence of the college, Homoeopathic faculty was created and I became the first Dean.
      3. College received University permanent affiliation, which was a issue for last 35 years.
      4. College affiliated to U. G. C. under 2B & 12F.
      5. Convener Secretary User’s Society, Dr. A. C. H. Medical College & Hospital, Bhubaneswar.
      6. PhD course on Homoeopathy was promulgated.

      At University level there was no stone unturned.

    2. Hospital
      1. O. P. D. structure was at rudimentary form. It was augmented to 24 O. P. D. counters with different departments which were far beyond the prescribed norm of CCH. Quality of treatment increased and attracted patients from far and wide.
      2. Occupancy of the I. P. D. was far above than ever before.
      3. Concept of quality care was mooted among the workers.
      4. All instruments / Doctors / Staffs were made to optimum utilization and out turn were increased with same staff and infrastructure.
      5. Finally looking to our credibility it is declared as “International Tourism Treatment Centre”.
    3. Manufacturing Unit

      There was a “Mini pharmacy” which was augmented to “State pharmacy” with fund of Rs. 1.88 crore from the Dept. of AYUSH. The production was increased 5 folds. In future this will provide self sustainability of the institution.

    4. College
      1. Infrastructure has become double with the fund from AYUSH / Govt. of Orissa and quality of teaching was increased by addition new teaching tools, new instruments to laboratory, books to library, access to internets by the students in computer lab.
      2. Vibrancy in teaching, training was created by induction of new teaching methods like group discussion / panel discussion / seminars / symposia / workshops / case study / debates / library session / assignments / research update session with the outward activities.
      3. National seminars / re-orientation training programme / continued medical education programme were a regular activities which were being conducted by receiving funds

      From AYUSH Dept. / Govt. of India. It is due to the credibility of the institutions whenever we asked for fund we got it.

    5. I. E. C. (Information, Education and Communication) programme

      It was complete new challenging job for the institute to establish link between public and institution by outreached programmes like health melas, health camps, awareness programmes, plantation, training to AYUSH doctors, etc, throughout the year which was funded by the Dept of AYUSH.

    6. New courses

      Has got CCH / Dept. of AYUSH, Govt. of India permission to start P. G. in 2 departments such as Practice of Medicine and Pharmacy with sanction of fund for the purpose from Govt. of India.

    7. Research
      1. During the period , Drug Proving Unit by CCRH has been established.
      2. College has received accreditation for research by Dept. of AYUSH / UGC.But from the Dept. of Atomic energy is on the pipe line.
      3. Apart from PG students all internees were engaged in producing a dissertation. A research atmosphere was created.
    8. Campus

      A concept of creating a campus was mooted. SBL a Pharmaceutical company was asked and he is maintaining. Hence there is no financial load on Govt. exchequer.

      There was no student /staff unrest during the period of principal ship which was a problem of the institute from the inception.
